Old Business -
Review finalized IAA bullet sheet of member info and recruitment: The group reviewed the amended value sheet for IAA and Alice Jones requested that the Legislative statement be added to the achievements as many IAA legislative statements have aided in state legislations changes. The group agreed. Mary moved that the sheet be accepted and used for recruiting member. The motion passed. Jones offered to create a brochure from the worksheet. Melvyn Gelb stated that the brochure and a flier for the first of the Roundtable discussions scheduled for May 18th on Homeless Youth be sent to area agencies from the pre-existing IAA mailing list. Kendra Milligan urged members to advocate in their work group meetings to utilize IAA as a meeting update coalition. The updates at IAA are meant to save work groups time by allowing them one place to hear what is occurring in the county instead of taking up valuable work group time with lengthy updates.
New Business-
Roundtable Discussion: Kendra Milligan discussed the subcommittee meeting, which set a format for the discussions. The group limited primary speakers to 5 per roundtable, but will invite `expert witnesses' to join the discussion as well. Jones added the roundtable discussions need to be focused to end with an action plan for future steps on each issue to be addressed and referred to the correct community group. The group decided that there would be no announcements or introductions for roundtable meetings. The meeting could run an extra ½ hour if the group is still engaged in the topic, but the meetings will not exceed 1 ½ hours (or until 10 a.m.)
Homeless Youth -- May 18th Milligan stated that several community members working closely with homeless youth will be in attendance.

Community Committee Updates
Therapy in Schools -Meets the first Tuesday of the month at 9 a.m. at Border Area Mental Health Services Suite #26. They had a suicide prevention meeting and now are working on integrating the mental health care at school clinics, which a new grant was received to work on.
Governmental Committee- No report
Domestic Violence Task Force- Meets the first Thursday of the month at the Sheriff's Training office on the first floor of the Courthouse at 1 p.m. They recently re-evaluated and re-wrote their plan for the next two years with the aid of the Health Council. Some great ideas and new directions, join them to help lower the Grant County Domestic Violence rate.
Fitness & Nutrition Core Team (FANC)- The meeting next meeting date is TBA. The group is diverse with lots of community involvement. Their main goal is to create a map of trails and add ones that are stroller and handicap accessible. They are also working with Safe Routes to School and WAAG to see walking routes expanded…they are also looking into malnutrition and its impact on the community.
Continuum of Care: 4/24 is the next meeting in Catron County, but the Wellness Coalition in Grant County (on Grant St, next to Penny Park) will have video conferencing available for those who cannot travel. The meeting starts at 1:30 and they are continuing discussing Substance Abuse treatment and services in the Region (Catron, Hidalgo, Grant, & Luna)
JD6 Behavioral Health: Alice asked the difference between the CoC (previous report) and JD6. Stoecker discussed the origins and focus CoC a workgroup to get a social detox center for the four-county region that spawned from IAA and the JD6 is a state mandated regional group focusing on Behavioral health. Milligan stated that CoC was a specific to Substance Abuse issues and mapping that continuum of care and JD 6 was more expansive Behavioral Health group of which substance abuse was a part of its focus. The IAA discussed that the two groups are working in close contact to map responsibilities and partnerships without overlapping too much (but both groups support the work of each other).
