This will be a rough draft of the video for the DAs and local judges to review and edit before reshooting and then distributing to the DVD to all the law enforcement agencies in Grant, Luna and Hidalgo counties. The DV taskforce has worked hard to push forward this protocol with the aid of the area's judges.</div> <div> <B>Domestic Violence Awareness Month</B>-The Grant County Health Council will aid El Refugio in media outreach for the October Event. The committee on this project will meet after the DV meeting today. Milligan will contact both newspapers on having a series of DV articles in the newspapers that month to highlight DV in the county and tie in series that aid victims in the area.</div> <div> <B>Law Enforcement-DVSA states for Grant County</B>. Sheriff's office reported a big increase in DV incidences in the last 6 months. The average offender age is 19 to 40. Art Vega, the Sheriff's office rep, reported that it was the worst in the last 6 months than in his last 15 years on the force. Lots of repeat offenders and many civil stand-bys which is where the police are asked to stand-by while a person enters a residence to retrieve their property. Milligan asked to have civil stand-by statistics added to the DV stats that are collected for the county. This might give a gauge to DV cases that don't get reported to law enforcement.</div> <div> <B>Finalize DVSA Resource Guide</B>: Milligan presented the draft of the resource guide in a brochure form as the group had previously discussed. The group reviewed the info and gave feedback to titles, placement and editing. Milligan requested the group be very critical of the brochure now so all the corrections could be made before printing. She will make all the suggested corrections and mail out an updated version ASAP for review and further feedback. </div> <div> <B>Accomplishments DV Plan</B>-Not covered due to lack of time.</div> <div> <B>Agency Happenings</B>-None.</div> <bR> </td> </tr></table></body>
