Senior Life Cycle
Meeting Time: The Senior Life Cycle meets the second Wednesday of every month at 3:30 p.m. in the Silver Senior Center, 205 W. Victoria St.
The dedicated volunteers of the Medication Assistance Program that the Senior Life Cycle founded.
The Senior Life Cycle has worked hard to bring quality programs and services to the area. They were instrumental in bringing a public transit system, Corres Caminos, to Grant County. They founded the Medication Assistance Program that helps patients receive low or no-cost prescriptions from drug companies. The Senior Life Cycle has also created a cross-generational mentoring program called Los Sabios, the Wise Ones, that connects at-risk youth with a caring foster-grandparent once a week in the public schools.
The Senior Life Cycle is presently researching, studying and planning the emphasis areas of concern for the remainder of the year 2004. Collaboration with other committees in the areas of volunteerism, a local facility for the severely mentally ill, and legislative action issues are projects in process. Two other areas of interest include local opportunities for training and/or course work in the field of healthcare and availability of options to care for seniors as they move from independent to dependent living arrangements
The Co-Chair is Connie Hostetler.
